Our Dream

The dream of producing our own wines started in January 2000. We had started as a fine wine importer back in 1993. Over the years our import company had become one of the leading fine wine importers and distributors in the country.

Turkey is currently world’s 6th largest grape grower having many micro climates and soil types. The country is also blessed  with hundreds of indigenous varietals suitable for making unique and quality wines. Back in year 2000 it was hardly known as a wine producing country in the international wine scene.  But, through our experience as wine importers, we knew that one day our indigenous varieties would be in demand by the international wine world.

We built a boutique winery in Kemalpaşa near the port city of Izmir in the western part of Turkey. Total production is currently around 150.000 bottles a year. We make wines as little as 500 bottles to a maximum of 15.000 bottles per sku.

We have four vineyards of 15 hectares, one near the city of İzmir (close to the village of Kaynaklar), two more near the city of Tekirdağ (one close to the town of Şarköy and the other close to the village of Hoşköy) and one more near the city of Çanakkale (close to the village of Gedik). Kaynaklar and Hoşköy vineyards were planted by us but Şarköy vineyard has 50 years “old vines” of Yapıncak variety and Gedik vineyard has 35 years “old vines” of Karasakız variety. We hand harvest our grapes.

Since day one we have been strong believers in the indigenous varieties of Turkey. These are our true “treasures”! All our wines are made with fruit from single vineyards, so we make “terroir” wines. That’s why our vineyards are spread out to the “homeland” of each of these varieties.

On our red wines we only vinify with native yeasts so all reds are wild ferments. Recently we have been experimenting with skin contact wines (aka orange wine or amber wine) made from our unique indigenous varietals.

We focus on the export markets taking pride on being one of the flag bearers of Turkey.
